More often than not, when people think of wedding invitations, their minds tend to wander towards delicate details, floral patterns and script typefaces. However, this invite changes that perception of the standard wedding invite by incorporating the very contemporary geometric patterns, that have become a design phenomenon in today’s world. Geometric patterns create interest and offer a wide range of diversity, as these patterns can often be as simple or as complicated as you’d prefer them to be. You can also rest assured that the design always be balanced, thanks to the harmonic mathematical ratio of the geometrics. There you have it – living proof that mathematics can indeed be beautiful.

We recently designed a digitally printed A5, blush pink and grey invitation, including two additional postcard size cards and a blush envelope with a pink, patterned liner. What I love most about this invite is the contrast that is created between the detailed and dynamic geometric envelope liner and the well designed white space on the main invite card. The geometric pattern really allows the invite to pop, thanks to its elegant and uncomplicated nature.

The invite is still soft, and you are still aware that it is a wedding invite due to the subtle influence of the bush pink throughout the set. It just embraces modern design in a different way to the standard wedding invites we see most of the time. The whole invite set also works well as a design system – all the elements, from the envelope liner to the smaller cards, work to ensure that the main invite card always takes centre stage.
